Cigarettes didn’t phase me, cuts didn’t scare me, drugs didn’t need me but god I went an hour without you and I finally realized what addiction was like

Do you think the universe fights for souls to be together?
Some things are too strange and strong to be coincidences.

I was the kind of child who always looked for fairies dancing on the grass. I wanted to believe in witches, wizards, ogres, giants and enchanted spells. I didn’t want all of the magic taken out of the world by scientific explorations.

The Word of God is like a lion. You don’t have to defend a lion. All you have to do is let the lion loose, and it will defend itself.

We call ships ‘she.’ We call our war machines ‘women.’ We compare women to black widows and vipers. And you’re going to tell me it’s not ‘lady-like’ to scream, to take up space, to fight and demand respect and do whatever the hell I want. You’ve looked at nuclear bombs and been so in awe that you could only name them after women. Don’t try to down-play my power.

Of course it is hard, the everyday work. Every morning you have to take class and go through the requisite exercises, which are as necessary for your body artistically as morning breakfast for all people. There are different ways to handle this - You can go to class dreading the thought of repetitiousness or you can go and think about your part: how to reach a new height, how to overcome the cliches, how to make something new. Without these daily efforts, an artist simply will not be successful: Because in art the correct approach does not allow doing the same thing over and over. Only improvement.

Kristina Shapran - Without work there is no artist
